What exactly is muslin?

Muslin is a loose, open-weave cotton — the fabric baby swaddles are made of, because nothing soft breathes better. One layer is airy and light; we weave nine together for the warmth of a real blanket with air paths running through the whole stack. It also gets softer with every wash.
